This winter and spring at WVUC Youth!
12 episodes – 25 minutes each – Filmed in Vancouver (<-- ya!), London, New York, Paris, and Jerusalem. At West Van United, we are using Youth Alpha to help you, the next generation, to catch the vision of what God is doing in this world. It's a call to stand against selfishness in a selfish world. It's a call to learn what true love is in a culture that is obsessed with success. Coming alive means letting all of it go, and it's the best thing ever. But here's the thing - it's not about what we teach, because we can't manufacture God. So we're using Alpha in the hopes of creating a space where you can ask those questions about faith and, in the process, who knows, your life might never be the same... So every Thursday until Easter, we will be joining together to share a meal and watch Alpha. Every episode is thought-provoking, and gives you a chance to ask the big questions on your mind.
- Life: is this it?
- How can God love people no matter what they’ve done?
- If you only had 24 hours to live, what would you do?
- Why do you think people find it awkward to talk about their religious beliefs?
- What’s the deal with Jesus anyway?
- Why do I need God?
Starting Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 during regular Youth Group hours (6-8pm) in the Youth Lounge at the church (…that’s West Vancouver United Church in case you forgot what website you were on – haha).
As always, the evening will include tasty food shared over dinner together!
